Pattern #52 - Tester Call

We’re excited to announce our next digital pattern, the Sewfisticated Breeze Pack, and we’re looking for guest testers to help bring it to life!

The Sewfisticated Breeze Pack is a compact, lightweight backpack with unique construction. It’s ideal for short excursions, school outings, enrichment classes, or travel. Its secure zipper opening and hidden zipper pockets also make it a practical anti-theft carry option.

It features dual compartments, with an optional tech compartment; two hidden zipper pockets; one inner zipper pocket; and dedicated space for a gadget, while still fitting an A4 file. It’s also perfect for showcasing a favourite panel or rapport print.

TEST PERIOD: 26th Sep EST – 9th Oct EST (14 days)

Expected Launch: Mid October

REQUIREMENT 

Make at least one bag according to the pattern instructions, provide feedback and clear photos before the end of the testing period, and promote the pattern launch across the sewing groups/social media channels.

How to Apply:

1. Join the SCD Facebook group (if you’re not already a member).
2. Find the Tester Call post and follow the instructions to apply.
   Closing Date: 24th Sep 23:59 PM EDT
   Selected testers will be notified via Facebook Messenger and invited to a dedicated tester group.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bag-Making Experience: Comfortable with zippers and layered construction.
• Proofreading Skills: Able to follow the pattern, provide constructive feedback, and check for grammar/spelling.
• Materials Ready: Have the necessary supplies (or suitable alternatives).
• High-Quality Photography: Can provide clear, beautiful photos of the finished bag and details.
• Integrity: Keep all pattern details confidential.
• Social Media Engagement: Active in sewing/bag-making communities and able to promote the pattern during testing.
• Collaborative Spirit: Respectful and comfortable working with a diverse, international team.
• Recommended Skill Level: Intermediate
  
• Availability: To keep things fair for everyone, please note that if you're already committed to testing for another designer during the SAME TIME FRAME, I kindly ask that you hold off on joining this test. I really value your focus and want to make sure both my pattern and the other designer's receive the attention they deserve. A slight overlap of up to 3 days is totally fine. Thanks for understanding!

A note on fabric and construction

Lightweight fabric bases are recommended - ideally fabrics that need little or no interfacing. The Breeze Pack uses a bound finishing method, though the bulk remains manageable. This pattern is best suited to makers who are comfortable with zippers and layered bag construction.

Tester thank-you

All testers who successfully test and promote the launch will receive a US$20 gift card, redeemable for either digital patterns or supplies.

The top two exceptional testers will receive an additional bonus and an early invitation to test the next pattern release.
