Disclaimer: This calculator provides an estimate based on the inputs you provide. Final calculations are at your discretion and Sewfisticated Craft is not responsible for any miscalculations. Basic knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets is required.
How often have you wondered if you're undervaluing your work? How much should you really charge to reflect your true worth?
Wait no more - stand proud of your creations and price them with confidence!
Even if we're not making to sell, it's eye-opening to see what the base cost actually is.
Important Note – Before You Proceed!
This tool is designed to help you accurately estimate the total cost of making your bag by considering various components and supplies. Enter your details to get an approximate cost based on your selections.
There are two versions of this calculator:
- Metric (meter/centimeter)
- Imperial (yard/inch)
Ensure you’re using the correct version. Be consistent - if you use the imperial system for your supply list, apply it to your pattern pieces and all related entries. Convert all prices to your local currency, if necessary.
Note: Auto calculations have been excluded to keep the process simple (KISS).
Why Use This Calculator?
Entering data may take time initially, but the benefits are significant:
- Eliminates pricing guesswork and uncertainty.
- Enables data-driven decisions, free from emotional influence.
- Once completed, the supply cost sheet provides a comprehensive, easy-to-reference overview, ensuring accurate pricing and saving time on future projects.
Calculator Structure:
-
Supply - Materials Tab:
Enter all your supplies, including fabric, interfacing, stabilizers, notions, and hardware. -
Costing Tab:
Specify the pattern name and enter the cut list to calculate the total cost for that specific pattern.
Key Notes:
- Information is included in the HEADINGS. Hover over a cell to see a NOTE pop up.
- CHECKS in the columns are important. If the cost isn’t derived after entering data, double - check your inputs for errors such as incorrect category selection or spelling mistakes.
- Correct spelling matters!
Tips for Use:
- Label each worksheet with the corresponding pattern name for easy identification.
- Organize by designer or bag style for efficient reference.
- Maintain a Master Copy of the supply (materials) file as a backup to prevent data loss.
Thank you for using the Bag Cost Calculator! I hope it streamlines your pricing process and helps ensure accurate, consistent results.
