BOMC Club Giveaway!

Counting Down to March 1st - Only 8 Days Left!!

The BOMC March pattern is just around the corner, and we can’t wait for you to get started!

This pattern is versatile and works with all fabric bases, including cotton, waterproof canvas, and vinyl! The key to success is ensuring your sewing machine can handle the chosen fabric.

Tips for Working with Cotton-Based Fabrics:
  • Fuse interfacing first before cutting to help reduce shrinkage and make the cutting process smoother.
  • Be mindful of the interfacing thickness to avoid excessive bulk.
  • Use lightweight interfacing for the lining and medium-weight for the exterior, paired with the recommended stabilizer.
  • Keep in mind that cotton fabric with interfacing can be bulkier than waterproof canvas (without PVC coating), which typically requires no interfacing.
  • Standby a thicker needle for the final assembly to handle bulkier seams with ease!

Whether you're just starting out in bag making or have years of experience, this pattern isn't beginner-level, but it's a great opportunity to learn and grow your skills. It's designed to be both enjoyable and rewarding, with plenty of new techniques to master! But wait...

Next Sneak Peek for BOMC March!

Many have asked if you can substitute the mesh pocket for another type of pocket, and the answer is yes! There are alternative pocket options, but keep in mind that they may require more fabric.

Mesh has been a staple in my sewing arena - it’s soft yet sturdy, lightweight, provides durability, and is easy to sew. Plus, it's a great way to practice binding! 🥳

For those wondering where to get mesh, you can upcycle from a laundry bag, though those tend to be stretchier. A great alternative is ByAnnie’s mesh fabric, or you can grab high-quality, minimal-stretch mesh fabric from my shop and yes, we ship internationally! 😁
Note: This is not 3D air mesh. Mesh fabric does not have foam backing!
