Two Years in the Making: The Ultimate Garment Bag is Coming Soon!

It’s finally happening!

After two years in the making and with so many of you guessing correctly over in the Sewfisticated FB Group - yes, that long-awaited pattern is nearly here! 🎉 I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been asked about this design, and I’m beyond thrilled to say that we’re finally in the home stretch.

This idea first came to me thanks to the encouragement of community members who believed in me and trusted me to bring such a versatile concept to life. But the truth is, it took a while before I could fully explore its potential.

Behind the scenes, I was navigating something much deeper. For years, I quietly battled depression - something I didn’t even recognize until it became too heavy to carry alone. The road to healing was long and often lonely. But thanks to the support of a few dear friends, the unshakable encouragement from the SCD community, and a mix of medication and oil therapy, I found my way back - stronger, more grounded, and filled with new creative energy to bring more unique patterns to life.

And now, I’m incredibly proud to introduce one of the most significant designs in my collection: the Sewfisticated Taylor Convertible Duffle Bag - a spacious, zip-down duffle that cleverly transforms into a garment bag. More than just a functional project, this pattern represents resilience, transformation, and a deep personal milestone.

This release includes two versions of the pattern, plus a brand new padded sling strap that brings comfort and versatility to your makes. It pairs beautifully with the Taylor, but you’ll love using it for other bags too.

We’re almost there - testing is nearly complete, and we're currently preparing not one, not two, but three in-depth tutorials to help guide you through every detail of the process.

Now, here’s where you come in - we’re all YouTube newbies, so your support means the world to us! 🥰 If you enjoy sew-alongs and want to follow along visually, we’ve got three amazing channels for you to check out. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a single helpful tip:

While you wait, it’s a great time to prep your supplies. Be sure to have a #5 nylon separating/jacket zipper on hand - it’s essential to the design! And don’t forget to clear your sewing table… you’re going to want all the space you can get.

This has been a long time coming, but I truly believe it’ll be worth every second. Oh -and did I mention? There’s a giveaway coming up to celebrate the launch only happening at the Sewfisticated Facebook group!  Stay tuned for all the exciting details.
