INTRODUCING THE SCHOLAR’S PACK ADD-ON

It’s backpack season again - and this time, we’re levelling up the organization.

After using the original Scholar’s Pack, Charlotte came back with one very clear request:
“I need more pockets, mama!”

And just like that, this add-on was born.

With just 3 days before school started in 2026, I rushed to complete the only prototype after returning from a December break. It was a last-minute sprint but seeing her use it every day made it all worth it.

After sharing a preview, the response was immediate - many of you asked for this add-on, and I knew I had to make it happen.

WHAT THE ADD-ON DOES

Designed as a front panel upgrade, this add-on enhances storage and accessibility without changing the overall structure you already know and love.

WHAT’S NEW

Dual 3D Front Zipper Pockets
Two spacious dimensional pockets for quick-access essentials, snacks, or daily items
(Charlotte has officially claimed the lower pocket as her snack box)

A fully zipped organizer compartment with one side hinged for easy access:

Slip pocket
2 divider mesh pockets
Mesh or clear vinyl zipper pocket

Everything has its place and everything stays within easy reach.

It’s backpack season again even if we are running about two months later than usual! I’m just grateful I managed to finish this design in time for my daughter’s school reopening in the last week of June.

As always, she had her list of “non-negotiable”: a chest strap, tall side pockets for her bottle, and of course… more pockets! This backpack was created with her daily needs in mind and I hope it checks all the boxes for you or your loved ones too.

When printing the pattern pieces using your computer and Adobe Reader, ensure that you select the "Actual" size option and measure the 1" or 2.5/3 cm test box to confirm that your pattern pieces are printed at the correct size. Select "Automatic" for paper orientation to ensure proper alignment. Please note that using tablets or smartphones may result in deviations.

Measurements

All cutting measurements provided throughout the pattern are listed as width x height.

Seam allowances (SA) are highlighted in RED throughout the pattern instructions for easy reference.

Measurements are given in both Imperial (Inches) and Metric (CM) units for your convenience.

If you’re interested in creating a video tutorial for any Sewfisticated pattern, please reach out to me before you begin filming. I’d love to hear your plans and ensure everything aligns with the intended design.

Here are a few important guidelines to follow:

Always include a link to the original pattern.
Do not show or share any paper pattern pieces or measurements.
Avoid displaying your cut pieces on a gridded cutting mat throughout the video.
It's strongly recommended to do a trial test run, especially if you're new to Sewfisticated patterns. This helps you become familiar with the construction and terminology before filming.

Once your tutorial is complete, feel free to share the link with me. I’ll be happy to consider adding it to my website. However, please note that I reserve the right not to share tutorials that don’t follow these guidelines or include modifications I do not recommend.
